The study aimed at investigating the impact of health and safety management on staff performance using a case study of Mukwano Group of Industries. The study‟s main areas of focus included finding out the health and safety practices used at Mukwano Group of Industries, assessing the challenges of implementing health and safety practices and exploring the solutions to the challenges faced in implementing health and safety practices in Mukwano Group of Industries. The researcher used both the qualitative and quantitative research design. A survey questionnaire was designed and a sample size of 88 employees were selected using stratified sampling and random sampling method. Data analysis was done using SPSS and was presented inform of tables, frequencies, means and standard deviations. The study results highlighted the fact that there was a significant role of the health and safety practice on staff performance. The findings discovered that Health and safety increased staffs‟ time spent at the work place and reduced employee injury rates which enhanced performance or employee productivity. It was also noted that there was need to emphasize management commitment towards supporting the health and safety process. The study recommended that organizations needed to conduct proper training of employees and take care with which change is introduced to their work environment. There was also a need to develop health and safety procedures, good working conditions and clear procedures for employees. Organizations needed to ensure that all employees use protective equipment such as chemical goggles, gloves, safety shoes or other appropriate protection gear to avoid injury. These would aim at reducing cases of injury that impedes the performance of employees.
