The study aimed at designing a library management system for St. Joseph’s SSS Naggalama, Mukono. The study objectives were to; examine the current system used to manage information resources at St. Joseph’s SSS Naggalama Library, establish the information services provided at St. Joseph’s SSS Naggalama Library, examine the requirements necessary to design the LMS for St. Joseph’s SSS Naggalama Library, and design a Library Management System that improves on the services delivery at St. Joseph’s SSS Naggalama Library. The study used a case study research design while adopting a qualitative research approach to collect data. Purposive sampling and simple randomsamplingwere used to select the respondents who participated in the study. Questionnaires, interviews and observation methods were used to collect the data for the study. There is use of cards and counter books which is hard to keep track of the records and time consuming. Out dated information materials, inadequate funding were the major challenges affecting the LMS at St. Joseph’s SSS Naggalama. The Library Management System is needful in the school library because it will support the users acquire resources from the librarians deliver online library services, ease to keep the users details and information resources and acquire up dated information resources from online. The study concluded that the Library Management System would help the library staff provide library services to the library users, inadequate information materials and inadequate funds as the major challenges would be solved by increasing the library funding so as to support the library users meet their needs and the computers were few in the librarywhich would be overcome by providing new computers to support the provision of library services. The study recommended that the library staff should start on embarking on training the students and staff members, St. Joseph’s SSS Naggalama administration should digitize all information materials to promote the access and provision, library staff should ensure that information materials are properly preserved and conserved, the library staff should ensure that the library materials are properly classified and catalogued to promote organization and access of these materials by the users.
