The study established the effects of employee retention strategies on the organizational performance of supermarkets, specifically at Goshen Supermarket-Ndejje. The study was guided by the following objectives: to find out how financial incentives affect performance of workers at Goshen Supermarket, to find out how training affect employee performance at Goshen Supermarket and to find out how promotion affect staff performance at Goshen Supermarket. The study followed a cross sectional descriptive survey design which was used to obtain both qualitative and quantitative data from different departments of Goshen Supermarket. The population of the study comprised of 80 respondents. The study only selected 60 respondents to participate. The study revealed appositive relationship between financial incentives and performance of workers at Goshen supermarket, as the study noted that financial incentives are set to satisfy basic human needs for the employee, financial incentives encourages workers to do their best of work performance, financial incentives increases the level of workers competences, financial incentives production efficiency of the supermarket, financial incentives improves the organizational. The study also revealed that training develops the capabilities of employees which enables employees to deal with the customer in an effective manner, training sharpens the employee thinking ability and creativity hence taking better decision, training develops self-efficacy and results in superior performance on job with in the supermarket, high organizational effectiveness of the supermarket is as a result of the intensive training programs given to workers and training ensures that the supermarket has people with correct mix of attribute that enables them to perform to the highest levels. The study also identified that strong promotional systems lower turnover rate of staff, promotion shifts employee for jobs of higher significance and compensation, job satisfaction is strongly correlated with promotion opportunities offered in the organization, promotion enhances increased level of efficiency and output of the supermarket, promotion encourages the development of friendly relationships within the organization, and promotion increases the level of stability in workforce.
